Chris and Fliss Lane pioneered the Vineyard Church, St Albans in 1988. Since then, they have seen this loving contemporary community grow from half a dozen to over 700 with a staff team of eleven. This Autumn of 2008 the church is celebrating the 20th Anniversary with a variety of events that begun with the 20/20 Vision special service in September.
The church has "planted out" six other churches and seen the Vineyard denomination in the UK, of which it is a founder member, grow to around eighty congregations. Internationally, The Vineyard Church, St Albans is one of about a thousand Vineyard churches that have sprung up in the last twenty five years.
As a denomination, the Vineyard remains committed to its core values of worship, mercy ministries, mission and training, whilst Vineyard Records continues to promote its distinctive style of music worldwide.
